Description:

  • We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our growing Internal Data team in Toronto, Ontario.
  • This position is full-time and remote, reporting to the Director of Engineering.
  • The role involves collaborating with clients to create an ingestion pipeline from their systems to ours.
  • You will work closely with clients, Product and Engineering teams, and senior Technical Architects to create impactful solutions and improve account realized value.
  • Responsibilities include designing and delivering client data ingestion pipelines, balancing standardized and scalable ingestion formats with customized client needs, and scaling data pipelines to ingest millions of documents from multiple clients throughout the year.
  • You will work with both semi-structured and unstructured data and help define best practices for a broad platform of technologies in a cloud-based environment.
  • The role requires integrating security standards and processes into solutions to ensure compliance with BenchSci and client mandates.
  • You will respond urgently to operational issues and anticipate client needs, identifying opportunities for new services and methods.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a software developer with expertise in data ingestion frameworks, and proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in client-facing or similar Solution Architect roles is necessary, particularly in designing client-facing integration and interfacing solutions.
  • Proficiency with data and ML pipelines, ETL, data integration, and data indexing designs and solutions is required.
  • Experience with multiple cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem deployments, as well as enterprise data/AI architecture, data/AI governance, security, and compliance is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience applying analytical, statistical, or data science principles in analyzing large volumes of data.
  • A background in Life Science (cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology) is preferred.
  • It is a plus if candidates have worked with Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) systems or at a pharmaceutical company.
