Description:

The Solution Architect position is a remote role based in Canada, specifically for candidates in the EST time zone.
The role involves working alongside a sales team in a pre-sales consulting capacity to assist potential customers and secure deals.
Responsibilities include providing advanced data consulting through workshops and custom consulting, as well as designing cloud-based architectures for reporting, analytics, and machine learning.
The architect will support the Customer Engineer group, manage complex multi-technology solutions, and engage in sales conversations.
The position requires preparing and delivering customer pitches, reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs), and promoting project accelerators internally.
The architect will oversee major projects, ensuring they are successfully underway, and remain engaged as necessary.
They will explain technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and lead workshops while training others to do the same.
Continuous evolution of Pythian’s knowledge of solutions is expected, including researching new technologies and producing thought leadership content.
The role includes developing trusted relationships with partners and participating in calls to assess new potential partners.

Requirements:

Candidates must have extensive understanding and hands-on experience with cloud architectures, particularly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
In-depth knowledge of database and data warehouse technologies such as BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Snowflake is required.
A strong understanding of cloud-based batch and stream processing architectures is necessary for effective data ingestion and processing.
Proven experience in enterprise-scale data modeling is essential to support business intelligence and analytics.
Candidates should have a solid grasp of distributed systems architecture for designing scalable and reliable solutions.
Experience in data quality management processes, including data cleansing and audits, is required.
Proficiency in multiple object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java and Python, is necessary; familiarity with Scala and Go is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are required.
Interest or experience in people management, ideally in a “player-coach” leadership style, is preferred.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform is necessary.
Familiarity with cloud monitoring and observability tools is required.
Candidates should be familiar with Agile project management practices.
