Description:

  • Tailscale is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their rapidly growing team.
  • The role involves helping customers design, implement, and manage their Tailscale deployment to meet business objectives.
  • The Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with Tailscale’s Sales and Customer Success teams and provide technical expertise.
  • Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities with the Sales team, communicating Tailscale’s value, providing technical expertise through presentations and demonstrations, and maintaining ongoing relationships with customers post-deployment.
  • The position requires staying updated on the latest cloud, network, and security technologies and trends.
  • Experience in a devtool software company, network security, and software startup environments is considered a plus.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience writing project plans collaboratively with customers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as a Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer.
  • A demonstrated success in working at a startup with multiple priorities and projects is required.
  • The candidate should be passionate about collaborating with the sales team on presales initiatives and crafting compelling demonstrations and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
  • Experience in systems administration and troubleshooting across Linux, Mac, or Windows is necessary.
  • Familiarity with networking and security concepts is required.
  • A desire to learn programming/scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Go, TypeScript, and HCL is expected.
