Remote SQL Database Administrator - Remote in Romania

Description:

• The SQL Database Administrator position at Eurofins Scientific involves working in an international context to maintain the operational condition of database servers.
• Responsibilities include managing tasks at an advanced level, communicating with customers to classify tickets, and ensuring proper documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Working with a ticketing tool (Service Now) to record and fix incidents, contribute to continuous improvement, and troubleshoot internal tools.
• Collaborating closely with IT Infrastructure & Operations, Architecture, and Security teams.
• Optimizing performance, scalability, and security of instances and databases.
• Configuring and troubleshooting crucial elements of Eurofins global database platforms.
• Identifying, documenting, and promoting best practices for database architecture.
• Managing technical support IT incidents and changes using provided procedures and environments.
• Willingness to work night shifts or weekends for maintenance or on-call duties.
• On-call support organized on a rotational basis.

Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Technical proficiency in database implementation at an enterprise scale.
• Systems Thinking and experience in infrastructure/operations/project teams.
• Familiarity with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Elasticsearch, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI, Transact-SQL, PowerShell, Windows, Linux, On-Premise, Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google), Terraform, and Octopus.
