Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Developer with expertise in performance tuning and a strong technical understanding of SQL Server's internal workings.
  • As a key member of our database team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing SQL Server databases to ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and scalability for our applications.
  • Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for various business applications.
  • You will identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using advanced techniques, including index optimization, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and optimization of database configurations.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues and errors within SQL Server environments will be part of your role, applying in-depth knowledge of SQL Server internals to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • You will assist in the architectural design and implementation of high-performing SQL Server databases to meet both current and future business requirements.
  • Designing, configuring, and maintaining high-availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and other disaster recovery techniques to ensure database uptime is essential.
  • You will use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and third-party monitoring tools to proactively monitor database performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Implementing database security measures to ensure that sensitive data is protected and compliant with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is required.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of database configurations, changes, performance improvements, and optimization procedures is necessary.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams (application developers, system administrators, etc.) to ensure the smooth operation of database systems.
  • Continuously evaluating and applying new SQL Server features and best practices to keep the database systems aligned with industry standards is expected.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server databases on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, or Google Cloud SQL is part of the role.
  • You will work with cloud providers and integration tools to ensure seamless interaction between cloud-based databases and other cloud services.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with SQL Server database development, focusing on performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting is required.
  • Deep technical knowledge of SQL Server (2016 or later) architecture, internals, and background processes such as transaction logs, locking, and resource management is essential.
  • A proven track record in identifying performance bottlenecks and resolving issues related to query performance, indexing, and database configuration is necessary.
  • Advanced knowledge of indexing strategies (clustered, non-clustered, filtered, and full text) and the ability to optimize complex SQL queries is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server high availability technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, database mirroring, replication, and log shipping is essential.
  • Proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Profiler, and other performance monitoring tools (e.g., Redgate, SolarWinds, etc.) is required.
  • A strong ability to write and automate T-SQL scripts and working knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages for database management tasks is necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure environments, are required.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders are essential.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, Microsoft Certified: SQL Server (or similar) certifications are a plus.
