Remote Sr. Application Security Engineer (Remote)

Description:

• The Sr. Application Security Engineer position at Rula is responsible for enhancing the security of code and development practices, improving vulnerability and secrets management, and ensuring the protection of patient data and technology supporting the platform.
• The role involves working closely with Engineering and Product teams to embed security as a vital component of Rula’s culture and operations.
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects that refine their skills, encounter endless learning opportunities, and contribute to ensuring the best outcomes for patients in mental healthcare.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as a security engineer, with at least 2 years at the ‘Senior’ level.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and/or Ruby.
• Functional understanding of OWASP Top 10 risks and their application to modern services.
• Familiarity with SAST and CI/CD tooling and best practices.
• Experience in assessing vulnerabilities in code and packages, and communicating severity and remediation options to developers.
