Description:

Knowde is building the first digital marketplace for the $5 trillion chemical industry, allowing chemical companies to market and sell their products online.

The Sr. Back-End Engineer will be a founding engineer, responsible for inventing, designing, refining, and delivering products that enable digital transformation in the chemical industry.
The role involves working directly with leadership and the product team to make decisions about code and product future.
The engineer will contribute to building a complex ecommerce marketplace, emphasizing quick feature shipping without sacrificing code quality.
Responsibilities include owning projects from software design to implementation and deployment, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and writing elegant code.

Requirements:

Candidates must have very good knowledge of Ruby language and Rails framework.
A great knowledge of SQL is required.
Good knowledge of Sinatra is considered a plus.
The ability to take tasks from requirements to deployment quickly and independently is essential.
Candidates should be able to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in designing and building scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs is necessary.
A high bar for quality and phenomenal attention to detail is expected.
Working knowledge of deployment processes (Capistrano), user authentication, and authorization (Devise) is required.
Candidates must be able to design and implement clear and scalable project structures.
Experience with test-driven development and the ability to create and maintain a useful test suite is necessary.
Fluency in speaking and writing English is required.
Experience in web service deployments is also necessary.

The position offers the flexibility to work from Rzeszów or Białystok office in Poland, or remotely from Poland.
