The position is for a Sr. Backend Software Engineer - Data Imports in the United States.
The role focuses on solving complex engineering problems related to automated data ingestion, transformation, and handling large data volumes.
The engineer will develop and maintain distributed systems that power data, computation, API, and research platforms.
Responsibilities include architecting and implementing engineering solutions, leading projects, writing maintainable code, mentoring junior engineers, communicating technical ideas, documenting software functionality, and promoting engineering standards.

Requirements:

A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Expertise in object-oriented programming languages, particularly strong experience in Java or similar languages is necessary.
Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems with a focus on data processing is essential.
Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL, OLAP) and data lake architectures is required.
Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud-based architecture is a plus.
