Remote Sr. Backend/Full Stack Engineer-Python LATAM

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer is responsible for bringing creativity and agility to help Foxbox clients build indispensable products.
• You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems for a high-impact project.
• This role involves building and maintaining scalable API endpoints, writing efficient and testable code, and ensuring seamless integration within a Dockerized environment.
• You will collaborate with front-end developers, product owners, and designers to create a fully functional and visually appealing product.
• A collaborative mindset is required to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Responsibilities include writing effective, scalable Python code using Django and Django REST Framework (DRF), developing and maintaining robust API endpoints, and providing technical guidance to team members.
• You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, and client meetings, actively seeking feedback to improve relationships and development processes.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading software to improve functionality and performance is also part of the role.
• You will ensure best practices for security and data protection solutions within the system architecture.
• Prioritizing and assessing feature requests while balancing technical feasibility with business needs is essential.
• Staying up to date with backend development trends and technologies is required, along with evaluating multiple solutions and assessing trade-offs.
• Collaboration with stakeholders to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable work items is expected.
• You will accurately log billable and non-billable hours daily to support project tracking and client billing.
• Identifying opportunities to collaborate with other team members across Foxbox is encouraged.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• You must have 7+ years of experience in Python development.
• A minimum of 4+ years of experience with Django, including ORM, class-based views, generic views, forms, and templates is necessary.
• Strong expertise in Django REST Framework (DRF) for API development is required.
• Proficiency with Docker for containerized development and deployment is essential.
• Experience with JRF pip python for package management and dependencies is needed.
• Expertise in automated testing, including Pytest and Model Bakery, is required.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, specifically jQuery and VanillaJS, is necessary.
• Experience working with Bootstrap or other frontend styling frameworks is required.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, ensuring database optimization and performance, is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, are required.
• The ability to work independently while also guiding and mentoring team members is essential.
• Comfort in developing backend features and implementing frontend UIs based on mockups is necessary.
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies is required.
• Prior experience working in a professional services or consulting environment is necessary.
• Fluency in English is a must.
