Description:
ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team.
The role involves architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Responsibilities include building a cloud-native platform on top of public cloud, automating cloud resource management, and working closely with the ClickHouse core database development team.
The engineer will focus on improving reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the cloud service.
Tasks also include designing and building security components and tooling, as well as enhancing the cost efficiency of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of software development industry experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Previous experience in developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
Familiarity with ClickHouse and cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.
Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, production debugging skills, and a passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership, and demonstrate accountability.
