Description:

  • ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team.
  • The role involves architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities include building a cloud-native platform on top of public cloud, automating cloud resource management, and working closely with the ClickHouse core database development team.
  • The engineer will focus on improving reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the cloud service.
  • Tasks also include designing and building security components and tooling, as well as enhancing the cost efficiency of the infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development industry experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Previous experience in developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with ClickHouse and cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.
  • Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, production debugging skills, and a passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership, and demonstrate accountability.
