Description:
ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team.
The team is responsible for building and managing the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud data plane end-to-end, including compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud, multi-region architecture.
The role involves architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Responsibilities include building a cloud-native platform on top of public cloud, automating cloud resource management, and working closely with the ClickHouse core database development team and security team.
The engineer will work on routing and traffic components to enhance the reliability and scalability of the cloud service.
Improving availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices, designing and building security components and tooling, and enhancing performance and cost efficiency of the infrastructure are key aspects of the role.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant software development industry experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Previous experience in developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, and cloud-native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.
Demonstrated experience in leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, such as VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams, strong problem-solving skills, and solid production debugging skills.
