Description:
Serve Robotics is seeking a Senior Cloud Site Reliability Engineer to enhance robotic deliveries in urban environments.
This position is remote and full-time, focusing on building and maintaining critical SRE tooling and processes.
The role involves balancing hands-on responsibilities with technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, and mentoring others in SRE practices.
Responsibilities include developing monitoring tools, collaborating with development teams for higher availability, managing SLIs and SLOs, and conducting capacity planning and performance tuning.
The engineer will own the incident response process, proactively identify reliability risks, and facilitate postmortems to drive improvements.
The role also requires mapping system availability metrics to business value and creating reporting dashboards that connect reliability data with KPIs.
The engineer will serve as an SRE expert, mentor junior engineers, and advocate for SRE best practices across teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role.
A proven track record of implementing SRE best practices in high-availability, large-scale systems is required.
Experience with major cloud providers (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and familiarity with managed services for high availability is essential.
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization/orchestration platforms is necessary.
Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic is required.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) is needed.
Comfort with modern CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) is expected.
Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability skills are essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
