Remote Sr. Data Engineer

Description:

• We seek an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to manage and optimize our vector databases and data stores, such as Elastic Search and AWS OpenSearch.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms and SRE principles and experience leading data infrastructure migrations.
• This role is critical in maintaining our data systems' reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Responsibilities include managing and maintaining vector databases and data stores, leading the migration of data infrastructure to modern, scalable solutions, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of data infrastructure.
• The candidate will implement and manage cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• The role requires applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to maintain and improve system availability and performance.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide robust data solutions is essential.
• The candidate will monitor and optimize data storage and retrieval processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data infrastructure, and develop and maintain documentation for data systems and processes.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• The candidate must have 5+ years of experience managing vector databases and data stores, including Elastic Search and AWS OpenSearch.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is required.
• Proven experience leading data infrastructure migrations is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues are necessary.
• A strong understanding of data architecture and data management best practices is required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are essential.

Benefits:

• The targeted base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $178,000.
• Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, and a candidate’s home base.
