Description:

We seek an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to manage and optimize our vector databases and data stores, such as Elastic Search and AWS OpenSearch.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms and SRE principles and experience leading data infrastructure migrations.
This role is critical in maintaining our data systems' reliability, performance, and scalability.
Responsibilities include managing and maintaining vector databases and data stores, leading the migration of data infrastructure to modern, scalable solutions, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of data infrastructure.
The candidate will implement and manage cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
The role requires applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to maintain and improve system availability and performance.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide robust data solutions is essential.
The candidate will monitor and optimize data storage and retrieval processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data infrastructure, and develop and maintain documentation for data systems and processes.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience managing vector databases and data stores, including Elastic Search and AWS OpenSearch.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is required.
Proven experience leading data infrastructure migrations is essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues are necessary.
A strong understanding of data architecture and data management best practices is required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are essential.

The targeted base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $178,000.
Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, and a candidate’s home base.
