Remote Sr. Data Engineer

Description:

• The position is for a Senior Data Engineer based in Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico, with the option to work remotely.
• The contract duration is from immediate start through December 31, 2024.
• The candidate must be available to work US Central Standard Time (CST) hours.

• Key responsibilities include designing and implementing data quality rule checks and alerts, performing investigations and root cause analysis on data anomalies, utilizing knowledge of multidimensional data modeling, designing and implementing efficient ETL pipelines, optimizing data models, and providing documentation, training, and consulting services to data warehouse users.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or Data Warehousing role.
• Extensive experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, SNS, and Kinesis is required.
• The candidate should have 5+ years of experience creating data pipelines using cloud-based ETL tools like AWS Glue.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, Kafka, and Spark is necessary.
• The candidate must have extensive experience working with both NoSQL and SQL relational databases.
• Expertise in workflow management and pipeline tools like Airflow is required.
• The candidate should have 5+ years of coding experience in Java or Python, with a preference for Python.
• A Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required, or a Bachelor's Degree with equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of multidimensional data modeling is preferred.
