Description:
H1 is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to contribute to the development, optimization, and scaling of data pipelines and infrastructure.
The role involves collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to build efficient and scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
The engineer will implement data quality checks, monitoring, and logging, ensuring adherence to data governance standards.
The position requires monitoring and improving the performance of data systems and pipelines, troubleshooting data-related issues and bottlenecks.
The engineer will evaluate, integrate, and develop data engineering tools that enhance productivity and ensure system reliability.
Collaboration with senior engineers to improve data architecture and infrastructure is essential.
The role supports data integration efforts from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Responsibilities also include troubleshooting data issues, optimizing queries, and improving data retrieval performance.
Documentation of data processes and workflows is required to ensure transparency and repeatability.
Participation in code reviews and contribution to best practices for clean, maintainable code is expected.
The engineer will engage with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and help translate them into data solutions.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, working with large-scale data systems and pipelines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar languages is required.
Strong SQL skills are necessary, including the ability to write optimized complex queries for large datasets using advanced SQL operators such as GROUP BY, HAVING, window functions, and complex joins.
Experience with big data tools like Apache Spark, particularly on cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS EMR is essential.
Familiarity with Docker or other containerization technologies is required.
