Remote Sr. Data Engineer

Description:

• RecargaPay is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and scale robust data solutions in cloud environments.
• The role involves building and optimizing data pipelines, modeling data structures, and ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient data flow across multiple systems and teams.
• Responsibilities include designing and building scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures in AWS, applying patterns like Lambda Architecture and domain-driven designs.
• The engineer will model data at conceptual, logical, and physical levels using tools such as dbt and ER modeling tools, ensuring data integrity and architectural compliance.
• Development and maintenance of batch and real-time data pipelines using Airflow, Kafka, and Spark is required, integrating multiple data sources with low latency and high availability.
• The role also includes building and managing data platforms like Data Lakes, Warehouses, and Lakehouses using technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, and Delta Lake.
• Orchestrating and automating data workflows with Databricks, Airflow, or equivalent tools while applying best practices in modularization, versioning (Git), and active monitoring is essential.
• The engineer will implement layered data security measures including encryption, RBAC, data masking, and auditing, leveraging tools like Ranger and IAM.
• Documentation of data flows, architecture standards, and technical decisions is required, along with advocating for and mentoring peers in best engineering practices.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have solid hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) in data engineering and architecture roles.
• A strong background in data modeling and experience with dbt, ER modeling tools, and SQL is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of batch and streaming data processing frameworks such as Airflow, Kafka, and Spark is required.
• Proficiency in managing data storage solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, and Delta Lake is essential.
• Experience with orchestration and CI/CD pipelines (Airflow, Databricks, Git) is needed.
• A deep understanding of data security principles and governance practices is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, technical leadership, and cross-functional communication abilities are essential for this role.
