Description:

The Senior Data Engineer will lead a team of 6 engineers to develop end-to-end systems for a major government partner.
The role involves modernizing a legacy enterprise platform to improve public-facing processes and user experiences.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
The engineer will work in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs.
The position requires collaboration with cross-functional project teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
The engineer will maintain security and privacy standards in all aspects of the data pipeline and participate in software design and code reviews.
The role may involve hiring activities such as submitting referrals and conducting interviews.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably on medium to large-scale cloud platforms.
A minimum of 3 years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams is required.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience building data services on AWS.
Experience with large-scale data services using FHIR/HL7 in healthcare is necessary.
Proficiency in big data technologies such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS S3, and AWS RDS is required.
Candidates must be proficient in writing applications and APIs in Python, Go, or Java.
A strategic mindset regarding trade-offs and benefits is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet any other requirements for government contracts.
