Description:

  • The Senior Data Engineer will lead a team of 6 engineers to develop end-to-end systems for a major government partner.
  • The role involves modernizing a legacy enterprise platform to improve public-facing processes and user experiences.
  • Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
  • The engineer will work in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs.
  • The position requires collaboration with cross-functional project teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • The engineer will maintain security and privacy standards in all aspects of the data pipeline and participate in software design and code reviews.
  • The role may involve hiring activities such as submitting referrals and conducting interviews.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably on medium to large-scale cloud platforms.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams is required.
  • Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience building data services on AWS.
  • Experience with large-scale data services using FHIR/HL7 in healthcare is necessary.
  • Proficiency in big data technologies such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS S3, and AWS RDS is required.
  • Candidates must be proficient in writing applications and APIs in Python, Go, or Java.
  • A strategic mindset regarding trade-offs and benefits is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet any other requirements for government contracts.
