Description:

3Pillar is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer with Looker to join their team in Romania for a full-time remote position.
The role involves understanding business requirements and designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using dbt to transform and load data into a data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
Responsibilities include creating and managing data models within dbt, building and maintaining Looker dashboards, and collaborating with business stakeholders to translate data requirements into effective visualizations.
The Data Engineer will monitor data quality, implement data quality checks, optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability, troubleshoot data issues, and implement data governance practices to ensure data security and compliance.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
Advanced SQL skills and experience with both relational and non-relational databases are required.
A deep understanding of data warehousing concepts and extensive experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation is essential.
Expertise in Looker dashboard development and administration is necessary.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
Strong Python skills with hands-on experience using libraries like Panda and NumPy are needed.
Candidates should have a proven track record of designing and implementing data pipelines using dbt and experience in building and maintaining Looker dashboards.
Familiarity with data governance practices and data security protocols is important.
Experience in data collection from multiple sources and integrating data based on business needs is required.
Knowledge of core Python, PySpark, Hadoop, MariaDB, SQL, and automation skills is preferred, along with JavaScript and JQuery.
Familiarity with AWS/GCP data engineering services and knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Lambda, GLUE ETL, Athena, RDS, Redshift, and EC2 is beneficial.
Proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
