Description:

  • In this role, you will help grow the Rackspace Cloud data practice and support the delivery of data projects on Azure.
  • You will serve as the Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customers and be the focal touchpoint in engagements.
  • The position involves presenting to customers at events and promoting capabilities related to Azure.
  • You will lead, define, and implement end-to-end modern data platforms on Azure public cloud using first-party services for analytics and AI use cases.
  • The role requires collaboration with enterprise architects, data architects, ETL developers, data scientists, and information designers to identify and define required data structures, formats, pipelines, and workload orchestration capabilities.
  • You will address data privacy and security, data ingestion and processing, data storage and compute, analytical and operational consumption, data modeling, data virtualization, self-service data preparation and analytics, AI enablement, and API integrations.
  • As a technical liaison, you will educate customers on the value of cloud and data services and develop deep relationships with clients, acting as the single point of contact for client executives on data engagements.

Requirements:

  • You must have 10+ years of experience leading engagements from design to implementation of creative data solutions leveraging Spark-based modern data platforms on public cloud.
  • A minimum of 5 full lifecycle data platform deployments on Azure using first-party services is required.
  • Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks is necessary.
  • Strong skills in Spark, SQL, Data Modeling, and Data Lakehouse concepts are essential.
  • You should have strong programming/scripting experience using Python and Scala.
  • Experience with Data & AI tools such as Azure Storage, Stream Analytics, CosmosDB, SQL DW, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Data Catalog is required.
  • You must have 8+ years of experience architecting solutions for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with analytics/data management strategy formulation and architectural blueprinting is necessary.
  • You should have 5+ years of experience working in cloud or multi-server complex environments, with extensive experience in Azure.
  • The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders is required.
  • Experience with Agile development methods in data-oriented projects is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Dashboarding and Reporting Tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik is required.
  • Certifications in architecture, data engineering, and development from Azure, AWS, or GCP are preferred.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management environments and tools such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins, TFS, Shell, PowerShell, and Bitbucket is necessary.

Benefits:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this role in Colorado and New York City is $143,700 - $204,000 and $167,400 - $223,200, respectively.
  • Compensation may include variable compensation in the form of bonuses, commissions, or other discretionary payments based on company and/or individual performance.
  • Actual compensation is influenced by various factors including skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
