Description:
The Sr. Data Migrations Engineer will support the Data Migrations Professional Services Teams by addressing questions, issues, training, and beta testing.
This role involves engaging in problem resolutions that require extensive analysis, troubleshooting, and escalation to the Senior Data Reliability Engineer (SrDMRE).
The engineer will perform complex debugging and remediation as needed, collaborating with migration teams to resolve support incidents related to configuration, code, or other service deficiencies impacting migrations.
Responsibilities include building solutions, creating tools, and automating issue detection and diagnosis to enable migrations to self-resolve issues.
The engineer will identify emerging trends or recurring escalation scenarios and drive automation opportunities to mitigate or eliminate them from the workflow.
Contributions to migration improvements will involve filing impactful bugs, design change requests, and assisting the DMRE team in fixing bugs or relaying scenarios to the SrDMRE for potential bug fixes or new product requests.
Participation in an On-Call schedule rotation for Data Migrations/Data Ops GoLive Support is required.
The engineer will write data defect reports and contribute to the escalation knowledge base.
Identifying support tool gaps, enhancing needs, and proposing solutions will be part of the role.
Collaboration with SrDRE to support and enhance test automation coverage is expected.
Participation in code reviews and After Action Reviews - Lessons Learned is also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must be highly proficient in SQL Server (T-SQL) and databases.
Proficiency in ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, CloverDX, or others is required.
A strong understanding of client data migrations and product knowledge is necessary.
The ability to learn new skills quickly and document business logic for Client Data Migrations/Data Ops is essential.
Candidates should be able to analyze unknown database structures and their relationships.
Experience in AWS services such as S3 and Cloudwatch is required.
Familiarity with any object-oriented programming language, such as C# or Java, is necessary.
Experience with RESTful APIs and Web Services (e.g., Zapier, Workato) is required.
A complete understanding of the application development life cycle (Agile) is essential.
Experience with GitLab or similar change management tools is necessary.
The ability to gather requirements, design, code, test, implement, and train others is required.
