Vimeo AI team is seeking a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join their AI applications team.
The AI applications team delivers product solutions from the initial idea to the final user experience, focusing on products that require AI capabilities.
The role involves designing and developing advanced AI-based video analysis that incorporates multimodal content (audio, visual, and text) specifically for video applications.
Responsibilities include conducting algorithmic research and prototyping, evaluating various AI methods, and implementing production-ready solutions.
The Data Scientist will optimize algorithms for real-time, large-scale inference capabilities to ensure peak performance and efficiency.
Staying updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and integrating relevant innovations into the development process is essential.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, is required to define and prioritize the AI-related product roadmap and align AI development goals with broader business objectives.

Requirements:

Candidates must have an academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in machine learning, AI, or related fields is required.
Expertise in natural language processing, deep learning, LLMs, and generative models is necessary.
Familiarity with engineering operation tools such as Docker, Jenkins, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is expected.
Strong programming skills in Python, with the ability to write and review production-level code and experience with ML/AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar) are essential.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills are required, with the ability to work with weakly defined problems and develop actionable solutions.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team are necessary.
Experience with video analysis is a bonus but not required.

The targeted base salary range for this position is $142,200 to $216,500, depending on various factors including experience and specialized skills.
Actual salaries may vary based on internal alignment and a candidate’s home base.
