Description:
Join Guidewire as a Data Scientist and ML Engineer to build advanced predictive models and variables for the P&C insurance market.
Develop leading-edge predictive models using data from multiple insurance companies.
Perform all functions required to build and evaluate models end to end, including data preparation, external data research and acquisition, data profiling and harmonization across carriers, feature development, NLP/ML modeling, model validation and interpretation, and business value assessment and product pricing analyses.
Build ML automation to accelerate the end-to-end process of creating models.
Engage in additional work such as new feature development, external data research, and providing user feedback on new products and tools under development.
Requirements:
A Master's or Ph.D., or equivalent level of demonstrable professional competency is required.
Experience developing model pipelines using AWS Sagemaker is necessary.
Expert skills in Python and SQL are required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the US or Canadian P&C industry is essential.
Familiarity with P&C policy administration and claims processing concepts is needed.
A strong understanding of AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EC2, RDS, etc., is required.
Data engineering experience with SQL, Spark, or AWS Glue is necessary.
Experience using TeamCity and Terraform for infrastructure setup and CI/CD is required.
Proficiency in using Docker or Kubernetes to deploy containerized applications is necessary.
Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring other developers is essential.
Knowledge of ML Ops best practices for model development, deployment, and monitoring is required.
Experience using statistical learning algorithms such as GLM and catBoost to solve real-world business problems is necessary.
Experience working with Guidewire ClaimCenter and/or PolicyCenter data is preferred.
Strong communication skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization are required.
A strong customer orientation and the ability to support sales conversations with customers are essential.
The ability to plan and carry out projects with minimal direction while being a team player is necessary.
Self-motivation and attention to detail are required.
Benefits:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000 - $210,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
