Description:
Smartsheet is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to guide analyses, create predictive and prescriptive insights, and influence decisions.
The role involves leveraging data analytics and machine learning techniques to inform product development and optimize user experiences.
Responsibilities include partnering with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to understand their goals and execute on opportunities to draw relevant insights.
The candidate will design metrics to analyze customer usage of products and features, conduct experiments, causal studies, and A/B tests to measure product changes' impact.
The position requires completing the full analytics lifecycle, from understanding business objectives to developing automated reporting and visualizations.
The Senior Data Scientist will present analyses to teams and provide data-based recommendations to encourage data-driven decisions.
The role also involves identifying areas for further investigation and driving a data culture within the Product, UX, and Engineering teams.
The position can be based in Bellevue, WA, or remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or 7+ years of experience in a related field is required.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience in product analytics techniques, machine learning, statistics, and experimental design are necessary.
Proficient analytical skills for problem-solving, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis, are essential.
Strong programming skills in Python or R are required.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with visualization tools such as Tableau are necessary.
A strong track record of forming effective cross-functional partnerships is important.
Experience using data to impact product, strategy, and execution meaningfully is required.
The candidate must be able to communicate analysis clearly to others.
The ability to research and learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies is essential.
The candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to execute in both independent and collaborative settings.
