Description:
CloudHire is seeking a talented Database Engineer to build and maintain data architecture, data models, and conceptual data designs.
The position involves integrating multiple databases together, including Snowflake schema, Star schema, and Network model.
The engineer will work with various message buses such as Kafka and IBM MQ to targets like Redshift, Postgres, and MongoDB.
Responsibilities include discovering appropriate workloads and selecting the right database to deliver necessary performance and functionality.
The role requires designing and deploying for scale, considering the types of requests the database must handle.
Database recovery with sequence and time constraints is also a key responsibility.
The engineer will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define future-state business capabilities and translate them into data architectures.
Partnering with platform architects to ensure implementations meet platform principles, guidelines, and standards is essential.
Analyzing the current technology environment to detect deficiencies and recommend improvements is part of the job.
The engineer will design, implement, and maintain data services, interfaces, and real-time data pipelines using various technologies and data engineering techniques.
Developing continuous integration and continuous deployment for data pipelines, including automated unit and integration testing, is required.
Experience with workflow management platforms like Airflow is necessary.
The role includes mentoring and supporting the team to achieve organizational objectives and advocating for agile practices to increase delivery throughput.
Creating and maintaining consistency with published development standards is also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure.
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions using Postgres, Redshift, BigQuery, Hadoop, Teradata, MS SQL Server, Talend, Informatica, PowerBI, and/or SSIS is required.
10+ years of experience using object-oriented languages (.Net, Java, Python) for delivering data for near real-time, streaming analytics is necessary.
Candidates should have 10+ years of experience working with partners to document business requirements and translate them into various data models using Erwin.
10+ years of experience working on agile teams delivering data solutions is required.
Experience in developing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions for 10+ years is necessary.
Candidates should have 8+ years of experience delivering solutions on public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud.
Experience in writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests for data interfaces and pipelines is required.
The ability to quickly comprehend new technologies and identify their appropriate use is essential.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, communication, and negotiation, are required.
