Description:

Keebo, a venture-backed startup, is seeking a Senior Database Performance Engineer to design cost-saving and performance-enhancing algorithms for their data warehouse tooling products.
The role involves researching variables impacting database performance, proposing improvements to Keebo products based on findings, and creating rapid proofs of concept for enhancing database performance and cost.
The position also includes mentoring other engineers in database performance knowledge and rapid prototyping.

Requirements:

Significant experience in delivering innovative improvements to analytical databases or a PhD in Database systems with some experience in delivering such improvements.
Extensive expertise in database performance tuning, including caching and dynamic scaling.
Passion for researching parameters affecting database performance and conducting methodical experiments with reproducibility.
Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, SQL, databases, data warehouses, and big data processing tools.
Ability to rapidly prototype ideas, build MVPs for customer feedback, and write clean, high-quality code with good test coverage.
Experience partnering with product teams, mentoring engineers, and communicating effectively in a distributed environment.
Proficiency in cloud technologies, modern CI/CD tools, and working across multiple time zones.
Self-motivation, initiative, adaptability, and a track record of turning customer requirements into technical work.
