Remote Sr. DevOps Engineer

Description:

• Meddbase, a Cority Company, is the UK's leading online EHR SaaS solution designed for healthcare professionals.
• The system includes a full suite of healthcare management software features such as consultations, cross-organization scheduling, patient analysis, document management, electronic referrals, pathology, and reporting.
• It offers a user-friendly patient portal, automated email and SMS appointment reminders, and a built-in telemedicine platform with a mobile app.
• The Sr. DevOps Engineer will work alongside the Infrastructure and Development teams to maintain high-security data centers and Azure environments.
• The role involves supporting and leading the modernization process to become entirely cloud-native with a focus on Azure over the next three years.
• The candidate should be passionate about availability, latency, performance, and efficiency, and be able to communicate the need for infrastructure, architecture, or code changes.
• Responsibilities include capacity planning, emergency response, and ownership of projects.
• The position requires a proactive individual who is willing to learn and collaborate with a supportive team.
• SQL Server is the primary database solution, with Postgres also in use, and knowledge of Redis is beneficial.
• Monitoring tools include Prometheus and Grafana, with Graylog for logging, and custom Prometheus exporters written in Go.
• The company aims to automate processes using Ansible and is looking for candidates with Infrastructure-as-Code experience, though training will be provided.
• Incident response and troubleshooting are part of the role, with a focus on continuous improvement through a blameless post-mortem approach.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English are essential, as the team is predominantly remote.
• Candidates will undergo security training and vetting processes due to the sensitive nature of the data handled.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly with Azure.
• Experience in distributed application analysis, troubleshooting, and development is required.
• Candidates should have experience designing and building monitoring systems using tools like Prometheus, Graylog, and Grafana.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting both Windows (including IIS) and Linux systems is necessary.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform is required.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python are essential.
• Practical incident response experience is a must.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, Postgres, and Redis is required.
• Strong documentation and communication skills are necessary for this role.
• Any experience with .Net or C# is considered advantageous.
