Description:

  • The Senior DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy, operate, and continuously improve Cority's cloud-based infrastructure.
  • This role involves architecting, developing, and implementing a secure operating environment for web and API-based solutions while adhering to Cority standards.
  • The engineer will identify and optimize interdependencies between Engineering and Infrastructure Operations through a collaborative approach to continuous delivery and monitoring.
  • Key responsibilities include architecting and delivering fully automated multi-account global cloud infrastructure on AWS and other public clouds, supporting continuous delivery pipelines, conducting Infrastructure as Code reviews, monitoring and tuning infrastructure performance, and identifying performance bottlenecks.
  • The engineer will also develop and support observability, logging, and APM solutions, improve automation for managed datacentres, provide mentorship and training to team members, research new technologies for the DevOps toolchain, troubleshoot application platform issues, and support cloud and data center operations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems on a multi-account AWS platform.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development and DevOps is necessary.
  • Candidates should have 5+ years of experience with CI/CD practices and tools, including GitLab, Ansible, AWS Code Deploy, Argo CD, and Jenkins.
  • 5+ years of experience with automation programming in Python, PowerShell, or a similar scripting language is required.
  • Extensive proven experience with AWS network and security implementations and management is essential.
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes, ECS, or other container orchestration is required.
  • Candidates must have extensive production experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi.
  • Advanced Windows and Linux experience related to administration, security, configuration, and monitoring is necessary.
  • Extensive experience with building and maintaining high-availability application architectures in datacentres or the public cloud is required.
  • Experience with observability tools such as ELK, New Relic, and Datadog is necessary.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is required.
  • Candidates should have experience with all aspects of a datacentre-hosted production SaaS application, including networking, security, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Additional experience with Azure or GCP is considered an asset.
  • The incumbent will work regular business hours but may require evenings and weekends to complete projects, respond to system alerts, or perform maintenance on systems.
