  • As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, responsibilities include driving design, implementation, and adoption of a custom Python- and Cloud-based deployment platform.
  • The role involves sustaining and improving deployment and operations of AWS and Azure services, Databricks, GenAI applications, Airbyte, and FHIR solutions.
  • The engineer will support and manage Abacus' deployment cadence and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organization.
  • The position requires being a leader and promoter of best practices within the team and the larger organization.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of development experience, including architecture and design of complex systems.
  • Deep cloud experience, particularly with AWS and Azure, is required.
  • An understanding of cloud data systems and Databricks is preferred, with familiarity in Snowflake and Airbyte being desirable.
  • A solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking is necessary.
  • Experience implementing a CI/CD system using platforms such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Travis is required.
  • Working knowledge of containerization, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, is essential.
  • Candidates should have a fluent command of tools such as Bash, Python, or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of best practices for designing and building efficient, maintainable, testable, and portable applications is required.
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
  • A team-first attitude with a focus on self-improvement and improving those around you is essential.
