Description:

Coupa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Observability team, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining the observability strategy.
The role involves ensuring deep insights into the performance, health, and behavior of systems and applications.
Responsibilities include supporting the implementation and migration to a consolidated observability platform for a massive-scale public cloud environment, collaborating with teams to instrument monitoring, custom dashboards, and alerts.
The engineer will onboard complex data sources to an Observability tool and ensure that alerts are understandable, actionable, and enriched.
The position also requires contributing to the creation and publication of standards and best practice documentation for monitoring and alerting.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role, with a strong focus on observability.
Previous experience with large-scale web operations is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Go, Java, or Python is necessary.
Experience with key technologies including New Relic, Prometheus, Influx, Grafana, Telegraf, statsd, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Open Telemetry, Data Dog, and Dynatrace is essential.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud technologies using AWS or Azure is required.
Candidates should have experience building and running modern full-stack cloud applications using public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience in creating custom dashboards, health and performance reports, and alerts is necessary.
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible is required.
A solid understanding of networking systems and protocols is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to own and deliver projects using Agile methodologies and have a focus on results.
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills are required.
A passion for problem-solving is essential.
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 4+ years of professional experience is required.
