Remote Sr. Engineer, Backend (Identity)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will join the Identity Team at Zapier to scale Authentication and Authorization systems across the product and platform.
• Responsibilities include developing features and maintaining Authentication and Authorization systems, shaping processes for monitoring services, collaborating with stakeholders, identifying areas to reduce technical debt, leading technical projects, mentoring other Engineers, supporting customers, and attending yearly company retreats.
• The role involves working with Python, Django, React, Node.js, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS, and using tools like GitLab, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of software development experience, expertise in Authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML, JWT), experience in large, complex projects, and the ability to foster collaboration and leadership.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7+ years of software development experience building complex web-based products.
• Strong understanding of Authentication protocols such as OAuth2, SAML, JWT.
• Experience in implementing secure Authentication and Authorization mechanisms.
• Familiarity with micro-service architecture and designing resilient code.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead projects involving various departments.
• Proficiency in Python, Django, React, Node.js, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Experience with modern tools like GitLab, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.
