Remote Sr. Engineer, Full Stack (React/Node)

Description:

• Veritone is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Full Stack (React/Node) to design and build innovative features for their Public Sector applications on the aiWARE platform.
• The role involves designing and implementing services using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Responsibilities include building UI solutions that are maintainable, cost-effective, and responsive to customer needs.
• The engineer will collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to enhance applications and services.
• The position requires ownership of application reliability by partnering with operations and infrastructure teams.
• Duties also include designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software code for high-performance business applications.
• The engineer will analyze and optimize both User Interface and Backend Application code for efficiency.
• Mentoring junior engineers is also a key responsibility of this role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 2+ years of professional experience in building high-performance, reliable systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment.
• A proven track record of writing maintainable code, including unit tests and sound implementations of design patterns, is required.
• Successful deployment of production code at scale is necessary.
• Expertise in Javascript/Typescript languages and V8 runtimes is essential.
• Proficiency in React/Redux is required.
• Familiarity with GraphQL/ElasticSearch, Javascript Heap/Call Stack, and Javascript transpilers like Webpack/Vite is expected.
• Experience with mono repo tooling like Lerna/Nx and testing with Cypress is preferred.
• Candidates should have strong debugging skills and knowledge of Javascript performance in Node/Chrome.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for deployment and Kibana/Grafana for logging and monitoring is necessary.
• A curious and continuous learner attitude, along with a can-do spirit, is essential.
