Remote Sr Full Stack Engineer

Description:

• The role is for a Sr Full Stack Engineer, which is a 100% remote position.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a robust, high-quality codebase using Ruby, React, Recoil or Redux, Material UI, and JavaScript.
• The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• They will architect, design, and implement systems with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
• The role involves establishing and promoting best practices and standards within the team.
• The engineer will lead the design and implementation of scalable, responsive, and well-documented frameworks.
• They will drive the continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into the design.
• Mentoring junior developers and advocating for engineering best practices is also a key responsibility.
• The engineer will improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews.
• They will spearhead the development of consumer-facing features that reach millions of users, ensuring high performance on mobile and desktop.
• Collaboration with the VP of Engineering and other stakeholders to establish and meet project timelines and deliverables is required.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development with a proven track record of successful project/product launches.
• Expertise in React.js, state management libraries (Redux, Recoil), and Material UI is essential.
• Candidates should have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining large-scale consumer-facing applications.
• Expertise in Ruby and related technologies is required.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and a thorough understanding of its nuances, including Typescript, is necessary.
• Strong experience with frontend development tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM is expected.
• In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS and frontend (CSS) frameworks is required.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token, is necessary.
• Experience in unit testing with Jest or a similar testing framework and a strong advocacy for code coverage is required.
• Proven experience building frontends for large-scale consumer-facing applications is essential.
• Candidates must have an excellent understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• A demonstrated ability to write clean, readable code and adhere to best coding practices is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills, algorithmic thinking, and a passion for technical challenges are necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
