Description:
The Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, Vision position is a remote role based in the US at Torc, a leader in autonomous driving technology.
The role involves developing computer vision models in PyTorch and deploying them on embedded platforms.
The engineer will ensure technical excellence in the solutions delivered by their team and guide the integration of these solutions within Torc’s product portfolio.
The position requires leading the analysis of requirements and contributing insights to anticipate potential challenges in delivery and feasibility.
The engineer will guide the creation of detailed software architecture design documents for robust, scalable, and long-lived machine learning solutions.
Responsibilities include developing and refining coding standards and processes, ensuring adherence to these standards in team deliveries.
Collaboration with team members is essential to integrate their contributions into the larger solution.
The engineer will provide rigorous feedback through the code review process to ensure contributions meet team standards and foster continuous learning.
Requirements:
A Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent engineering field, along with 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
The candidate must be a subject matter expert in Computer Vision and an advanced individual contributor.
Competency in software development is necessary, including thorough testing of code, writing clear and maintainable code, and following defined software development processes.
High proficiency in machine learning development, data analysis, and data preparation is required, with a commitment to producing elegant and thoroughly tested solutions.
The candidate should be able to work under high-level direction and inform the team’s technical direction.
Ownership of technical troubleshooting and incident recovery processes, including root cause analysis, is expected.
The engineer should provide mentorship opportunities for team engineers and contribute technical comments and performance feedback.
Proficiency in Python and C++ is required.
Experience with PyTorch, TensorRT, and OpenCV is necessary.
