Remote Sr. Power BI Expert

Description:

• We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Expert with 4-6 years of experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) technologies.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• A strong background in SQL Server (preferably 2012 or later, with SQL Server 2016 being a plus) is required.
• The role demands proficiency in creating advanced calculations, visualizations, and reports using Power BI and Azure Data Factory.
• Responsibilities include designing and creating diverse visualizations in Power BI using tools such as Slicers, Line Charts, Pie Charts, Histograms, Maps, Scatter Plots, Bullets, Heat Maps, Tree Maps, and more.
• The candidate will develop complex calculated measures and columns using Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in Power BI Desktop.
• Performing data visualization and developing interactive Power BI applications to support business decisions is essential.
• The role involves publishing and managing reports in Power BI Service, configuring connection details, and scheduling data refreshes.
• Writing efficient SQL and T-SQL scripts within SQL Server environments to support data management and reporting needs is required.
• Collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the development of insightful, high-impact visualizations is necessary.
• Utilizing Power BI’s Data Gateway for secure and effective data refreshing and integration with external data sources is part of the job.
• The candidate will create dashboards, operational reports, and presentations that transform complex data into actionable insights.
• Maintaining and enhancing content packs in the Power BI Library is expected.
• Understanding and applying data partitioning techniques and data warehousing performance optimization is crucial.
• The candidate will collaborate within an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.

Requirements:

• Proficient in data visualization and application development using Microsoft Power BI is required.
• Expertise in creating calculated measures and columns using DAX in Power BI Desktop is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server (2012 and newer, with 2016 being a plus) is essential.
• Strong experience in publishing Power BI reports and managing data connections and refresh schedules is required.
• Proficiency in using Data Gateway for seamless data refreshing and integrating Power BI with external data sources is necessary.
• Familiarity with integrating SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) into Power BI is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to create dashboards, reports, presentations, and visual summaries for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and a solid understanding of data partitioning and performance optimization in data warehousing is desirable.
