Description:

• The Senior Research Engineer - Insights position at CloudZero involves leading research initiatives, experimenting with new methodologies, and developing algorithms to process large amounts of data for uncovering trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• The role requires conducting deep exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, correlations, and trends in cloud usage, which can inform strategic decisions for customers.
• The Senior Research Engineer will work closely with product managers and engineers to translate insights into product features, ensuring effective integration into CloudZero’s platform.
• The position involves staying updated on the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and cloud cost management to enhance the quality and impact of insights.
• Detailed documentation of research findings, methodologies, and algorithms will be prepared, and insights will be effectively communicated to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, or a similar role, with a focus on generating actionable business insights.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and familiarity with cloud cost management challenges.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience using data science libraries and tools (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.).
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and develop models that can handle complex data relationships and generate meaningful insights.
• Experience in financial modeling, cost optimization, or FinOps.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to think critically about data and its applications.
