Remote Sr. Site Reliability Engineer

Description:

• The role involves working with cloud infrastructure at scale and optimizing application performance and efficiency.
• You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the Vimeo platform.
• The position includes building and securing platforms that power Vimeo applications.
• You will build and maintain tooling to eliminate manual infrastructure work and enable self-service for engineers.
• Improving observability and reliability of applications to minimize outages is a key responsibility.
• You will write and maintain thorough documentation for team collaboration.
• Contributing to an internal self-service infrastructure platform for application development and deployment is expected.
• Participation in a weekly on-call rotation for production incidents and internal support is required.
• The role requires a commitment to making Vimeo faster, simpler, more scalable, reliable, and efficient.

Requirements:

• A minimum of six years of professional experience in software development is required.
• High proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as C/C++, Go, Java, Ruby, PHP, or Python is necessary.
• A deep understanding of architectural patterns of high-scalability distributed systems is essential.
• Significant experience in maintaining, optimizing, and administering Kubernetes deployments is required.
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration and Linux system internals is necessary.
• Experience with major cloud providers like Google Cloud or AWS is required.
• Significant experience with deploying and administering MySQL is necessary.
• Familiarity with "Infrastructure as Code" platforms such as Terraform is required.
• Experience with observability systems like Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, OpenCensus, and Graphite is necessary.

Benefits:

• The targeted base salary range for this position is between $127,800 to $196,000.
