Description:

  • As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Xero, you will be part of the Reliability Enablement team, focusing on post-incident analysis, incident learning, and providing reliability consulting.
  • You may work within an engineering portfolio or the central reliability enablement team, advocating for reliability and incident learning.
  • Responsibilities include investigating operational surprises, conducting incident analysis, and facilitating reliability consultancy engagements.
  • When embedded as an SRE, you will collaborate with product engineering teams to improve system reliability through on-call health, observability, and addressing operational issues.
  • You will lead the implementation of reliability uplift work, support strategic initiatives, and enhance production operations practices.

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in logging, monitoring, and observability of highly distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in incident management, troubleshooting, post-incident reviews, and incident analysis.
  • Previous experience in a tech or product company with comparable scale and complexity.
  • Systems thinking skills and proficiency in object-oriented programming languages or infrastructure-as-code.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud providers, designing and operating distributed systems, and delivering technical initiatives in a site reliability or platform engineering role.
