Remote Sr. Site Reliability Engineer

Description:

• The role involves working with cloud infrastructure at scale and optimizing application performance and efficiency.
• You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the Vimeo platform.
• The position spans platform engineering, database administration, release engineering, and internal tools.
• Key responsibilities include building, securing, and evolving platforms that power Vimeo applications.
• You will build and maintain tooling to eliminate manual infrastructure work and enable self-service for engineers.
• The role requires improving observability and reliability of applications to minimize outages and reduce MTTA and MTTR.
• You will write and maintain thorough documentation for team collaboration.
• Participation in a weekly on-call rotation is required, responding to production incidents and providing internal support.
• The goal is to make Vimeo faster, simpler, more scalable, more reliable, and more efficient to operate.

Requirements:

• A minimum of six years of professional experience in software development with high proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (C/C++, Go, Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, etc.) is required.
• A deep understanding of architectural patterns of high-scalability distributed systems is necessary.
• Significant experience in maintaining, optimizing, and administering Kubernetes deployments is essential.
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration and Linux system internals is required.
• Experience with major cloud providers such as Google Cloud and AWS is necessary.
• Significant experience with deploying and administering MySQL is required.
• Familiarity with “Infrastructure as Code” platforms such as Terraform is essential.
• Experience with observability systems like Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, OpenCensus, and Graphite is required.

• The targeted base salary range for this position is $127,800 to $196,000, depending on various factors.
