Remote Sr Site Reliability Engineer - Federal

Description:

• Zscaler is seeking an experienced Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to join their Government Cloud team in San Jose, California.
• The role involves performing operational duties for FedRAMP cloud products, which include deployments, on-call support, and incident management.
• The engineer will participate in deployment sync calls and conduct Operations hand-offs.
• Responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure elements such as AWS GovCloud, private cloud, containers, and VMs.
• The position requires operating and enhancing monitoring systems, driving automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) efforts.
• The engineer will also be responsible for writing and maintaining documentation, resolving escalations, preventing incident recurrence, and promoting DevOps best practices.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have over 5 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, with a relevant background in Operations or Engineering.
• A strong understanding of FedRAMP compliance (High/Moderate levels) and continuous monitoring for vulnerability management, including scanning, patching, and reporting, is required.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, and implementing infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform) in cloud environments is essential.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, along with knowledge of containerized architectures (AWS ECS, Kubernetes) and cloud services, is necessary.
• A solid foundation in web security, HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SQL, networking fundamentals, and coding (preferably Python) is required.
