Description:

  • LivePerson is seeking a creative and talented professional to join as a Backend Engineer (Java/Node.js) in the Conversation Exchange Services team.
  • The successful candidate will own the design and implementation of significant portions of product development.
  • Responsibilities include setting features, architecture, and best practices for the team, influencing overall strategy, and ensuring strong communication with both business and technical partners.
  • The role requires creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance services, necessitating exceptional technical expertise and a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
  • The candidate should enjoy working on complex system software, be customer-centric, and focus on building quality software that meets operational goals.
  • Collaboration with architects, product owners, engineers, user experience designers, and data scientists is essential for executing and delivering features.
  • The role involves building, scaling, and maintaining critical features of the Enterprise platform used by millions of users and hundreds of thousands of customer service agents.
  • Understanding customer/business requirements and translating them into flexible platform capabilities is crucial, along with working with Customer Support and Solution teams to minimize escalations.
  • The candidate will collaborate with external integration partners to enhance the Conversational Cloud platform and drive significant growth.
  • Participation in long-term product roadmap discussions and advising the product management team on technical aspects of product strategy is expected.
  • The role promotes agile and test-driven software development practices and requires excellent communication skills for leading design discussions and presenting to senior management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience with Java at scale is required.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed microservices architecture is essential.
  • Past experience working with end-to-end product mission-driven teams is necessary.
  • A solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs is required.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and ensuring production readiness is needed.
  • The candidate must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about enhancing the end customer experience.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in paid on-call duty approximately every 6 weeks is required, in alignment with the "You Build It, You Run It" philosophy.
