Description:

The Sr. Software Engineer, Data (Backend) position at Varo involves designing and building scalable distributed solutions for customers and employees.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 5+ years of industry experience in software development leading large and strategic high-impact areas in business.
Proficiency in a JVM language (Java, Kotlin) is a must, as the technical interview will be conducted in one of these languages.
Experience with scalable, distributed systems with a test-first approach is required.
Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures is essential.
Familiarity with strong consistency in a distributed environment, transactional databases, and caching systems is necessary.
Strong programming and software engineering skills are a prerequisite.
Exceptional knowledge of core data structures and algorithms is a must.
Understanding and familiarity with the Java open source Presto project is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, with final offer amounts determined by multiple factors, candidate experience, and expertise.
