Remote Sr. Software Engineer

Description:

• The Sr. Software Engineer will work with the Data & Analytics team at NBCUniversal to design and build data applications for internal stakeholders, data engineers, and product teams.
• Responsibilities include overseeing the development process, gathering requirements from stakeholders, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with business users and technology teams.
• The role involves developing standard communication protocols, updating SLA’s, and identifying new opportunities to enhance software platforms.
• The position requires a strong understanding of cloud application architecture, experience with Angular, React, SQL, Python, NodeJS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern programming languages.
• The Sr. Software Engineer must have proficiency in designing and developing solutions, delivering software using agile development processes, and excellent communication skills.
• Desired characteristics include experience in self-service analytics solutions, knowledge of media technologies, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience, including cloud application architecture
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, React, and SQL
• Proficiency in Python, NodeJS, Docker, Kubernetes, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns
• Experience with CI/CD tools, agile development processes, and software development lifecycle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
• Desire to stay updated with emerging platforms and technology trends
