Remote Sr. Software Engineer, Full-Stack (React/Rails)

Description:

• Ritual is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, Full-Stack (React/Rails) to join their remote engineering team.
• The role involves leading the design, architecture, and execution of web development projects from front to back.
• Responsibilities include establishing engineering processes, defining company standards, and collaborating with other teams to enhance customer experiences online.
• The position requires working with technologies like React, Gatsby, GraphQL, Ember, JSONAPI, and Rails API.
• The ideal candidate should be passionate about building polished web experiences, have experience in backend micro-services, and prioritize simple solutions over complex ones.
• Educational requirements include a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years of web app development experience using Javascript and Ruby/Rails.
• Preferred qualifications include Direct-to-Consumer/Online Payments experience and a strong eye for design.
• The role also involves troubleshooting issues, planning for scalability, and a willingness to learn new skills as the platform scales.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or other engineering/technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing clean, scalable web apps using Javascript and Ruby/Rails.
• Experience in backend micro-services, frontend component systems, API design/versioning, and modern JavaScript libraries.
• Ability to build a full web app from back to front with a focus on strong test coverage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, eye for design, and understanding of scalability issues.
• Interest in learning new skills and technologies as the platform grows.

Benefits:

• Base salary range of $130,000 - $169,000, with additional compensation based on skills and experience.
