Pilot is a successful startup hiring a senior engineer for their Infrastructure team.
The Infrastructure team builds software, services, and systems that enable Pilot to deliver a high-quality experience profitably and at scale.
The team is responsible for creating scalable, efficient, and high-quality building blocks for product development.
They ensure support for business growth in a secure and reliable manner.
Responsibilities include building, testing, and deploying software continuously, contributing to technical specs and testing plans, and collaborating with internal customers to solve the right problems.
The role involves mentoring teammates, working across teams to shape the future of engineering at Pilot, and supporting software and services as needed.
Pilot’s backend is written in modern typed Python, while the frontend uses JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js.
The company utilizes Terraform for production infrastructure management, Docker containers for deployment, AWS CodeDeploy for deployments, Honeycomb for monitoring, and Postgres as the database.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Experience with Python in a production environment is required.
Familiarity with common infrastructure tooling such as Terraform and AWS is necessary.
Candidates should have familiarity with the frontend ecosystem and frontend infrastructure tools.
The ability to work collaboratively across functions is essential.
Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills are required.
Candidates must be able to write well-structured, well-tested, and maintainable code.
A demonstrated ability to mentor and teach others is important.

The base pay range for this role is $125,000 - $247,000 in most remote locations, and $156,000 - $247,000 in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY, with final offers depending on various factors.
