Remote Sr. Software Engineer - Mobile Applications

Description:

• Timmons Group is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain interactive mobile applications on Android and iOS.
• The role involves working with a growing base of clients and contributing to delivery methodology and processes.
• Candidates should have 8+ years of enterprise software development experience and a passion for building innovative mobile solutions.
• A solid understanding of software architecture and best practices for code development and deployment is required.
• Projects will utilize geospatial technologies including ESRI ArcGIS APIs, Google Maps SDKs, and Mapbox.
• Essential duties include working productively in a team, maintaining communication with cross-functional team members, and delivering quality mobile solutions within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
• Responsibilities also include analyzing functional requirements, leading software architecture design, providing consulting to clients, leading code reviews, and mentoring peers.
• Candidates will collaborate on requirement definitions, design automation for CI/CD pipelines, and work within an agile delivery methodology.
• Exemplary customer service to all clients is expected.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Candidates must have 8+ years of professional experience in application design, development, and operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing software applications and building native mobile applications is necessary.
• At least 3 years of IT consulting or professional services experience is required.
• A proven track record of designing and delivering software in a fast-paced agile environment is essential.
• Candidates should have a pragmatic approach to software development and delivery.
• The ability to design and build mobile solutions from scratch for both Android and iOS platforms is required.
• Experience in designing and developing mobile applications using native and web technologies is necessary.
• Candidates must have experience distributing enterprise and public mobile applications using various distribution methods.
• Strong working knowledge of Kotlin (Android) and/or Swift (iOS) is required.
• Experience with GIS software and working within a professional services firm is desired but not required.
• An interest in working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google is preferred.
