Description:

  • Pilot is a successful startup hiring a senior engineer for their Takeoff team.
  • The Takeoff team focuses on building products that enable customers to sign up for Pilot, onboard, and derive value from the service from day one.
  • The aim is to provide customers with capabilities similar to large companies with finance teams, including insights into financial health, improvement mechanisms, and predictive planning abilities.
  • The backend is developed in fully typed modern Python, while the frontend utilizes JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js.
  • The team uses Terraform for managing production infrastructure and deploys Docker containers to ECS.
  • AWS CodeDeploy is used for deployments, and monitoring is done through Honeycomb with Postgres as the database.
  • Key responsibilities include building, testing, and deploying software continuously, collaborating with PMs and Product Designers, creating technical specs, mentoring teammates, and supporting software and services.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience with Python in a production environment is required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across functions is essential.
  • Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills are necessary.
  • Candidates should be able to write well-structured, well-tested, and maintainable code.
  • A demonstrated ability to mentor and teach others is important.
  • Specialties or backgrounds in accounting, fintech, or related fields are preferred.
