Description:

Brevity is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - Team Lead who will initially work as an individual contributor to learn the architecture and technology stack.
The role involves shipping new features and becoming familiar with the product and team dynamics.
Over time, the individual will take on more responsibility for the architecture and delivery process while leading the engineering team.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, testing, and deploying product features across various technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres (RDS), Redis, SQS, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
The candidate will work with Python/Django, React, and Tailwind/Material-UI, and will be involved in integrations with subprocessors.
The role requires evolving system architecture for performance, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness as usage is expected to grow significantly.
The candidate will drive engineering best practices, mentor and manage the engineering team, and communicate delivery timelines to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities also include monitoring and resolving production outages, security vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with SOC 2 requirements.
The individual will provide technical support to Customer Success and Sales teams and contribute to hiring and defining the engineering culture.

Requirements:

The candidate must have recent experience (within the last 2 years) as a Lead Software Engineer in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.
They should have shipped their own pull requests in the last 6 months.
Experience with back-end and front-end microservices integrated with cloud services is required.
Ideal candidates will have expertise in Python/Django, React, AWS, Kubernetes, RDS/Postgres, Redis or Elasticache, SQS, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience leading the development of Enterprise SaaS applications.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively run architectural design reviews and product roadmap updates with business stakeholders.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
