Description:

  • The MEMIC Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Solutions Architect to define and implement solution alternatives that align with business strategies and objectives.
  • This role involves creating and maintaining strategic enterprise business and application roadmaps across multiple Product Teams and projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of business goals, objectives, outcomes, capabilities, value streams, and processes.
  • Responsibilities include defining and refining solution architectures, developing comprehensive roadmaps, and translating business drivers into system designs.
  • The architect will evaluate, design, and analyze the implementation of solution architectures across business applications and technologies.
  • The role requires liaising with business stakeholders to ensure architectural solutions meet business needs and drive targeted outcomes.
  • Continuous monitoring of the effectiveness of solutions architecture and recommending adjustments is essential.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, operations, and other architects, is necessary for seamless execution and delivery of solutions.
  • The architect will analyze the business-IT environment to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Responsibilities also include creating detailed reference architectures, producing key deliverables, managing architectural risks, and providing architectural expertise during technology selection.
  • The role involves monitoring emerging technology trends and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Comprehensive documentation of architectural decisions and regular status reporting to senior management are required.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of specialized experience in solution architecture is required, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable architectures.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is desired, with a preference for workers' compensation experience.
  • A deep understanding of AWS or Azure cloud services, including architecture design and management, is necessary; related certification is a major plus.
  • Proficiency in modern software development practices, including microservices, containerization, API management, networking, storage, and security, is required.
  • Candidates must be proficient in database design and management using SQL and other database technologies.
  • A solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including Continuous Integration and Infrastructure as Code, is essential.
  • Proven ability to design and implement robust solution architectures that align with business goals is required.
  • Expertise in creating detailed technical designs, including system diagrams and architectural blueprints, is necessary.
  • The ability to present architectural designs to executive leadership and secure their buy-in is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills are required, along with the ability to prioritize tasks.
