Description:
The Sr. Solutions Engineer at ThinkOn will be responsible for operational procedures and availability for level three projects.
They will serve as the main local expert for assigned products and systems within the ThinkOn environment.
Responsibilities include capturing project needs, designing feasible solutions, and leading technical deployment.
The role involves coordinating and owning escalated issues, providing technical leadership to team members, and effectively communicating with all parties involved.
Duties also include architecture design for cloud services, managing VMware-based virtual platforms, and focusing on areas like ESXi, vCenter, vCloud, NSX-T, backup, replication, AD, and storage.
The Sr. Solutions Engineer will be involved in configuration, deployment, and management of physical servers and chassis/blades solutions.
They will produce documentation, provide system problem support, troubleshoot hardware and software components, and interact closely with technical teams, customers, and vendors.
Other responsibilities include system deployment, integration, support activities, on-call support, and reviewing new technology for execution.
The role also involves acting as a technical leader for Infrastructure Planning and Implementation Team.
Requirements:
Canadian or Permanent Residence status of 10+ years.
5+ years of operational experience with VMware-based virtual platforms, VMware Sphere (ESXi & vCenter), and VMware Cloud Director environments.
2+ years of operational experience with Cloud environments and NSX environments.
3+ years of blades and chassis administration, fibre channel-based storage administration, and solid understanding of routing and switching concepts.
Experience in a 24/7/365 large-scale production environment, VMware Certified Professional 6+, and NSX-T implementation for vCloud environment.
