Description:

The Special Projects team at Shield AI is an elite group within the office of the CTO, consisting of highly experienced software engineering experts from diverse fields such as aerospace, robotics, and cloud infrastructure.
The team's charter is to align technology development with the CTO’s vision through tactical insertion into teams and technologies across the organization.
Team members contribute directly to all three pillars of Hivemind, Shield AI’s software ecosystem for developing and deploying resilient intelligent teaming for aircraft.
Hivemind includes three products: Hivemind Edge, Hivemind Design, and Hivemind Commander, each with specific functionalities and technology stacks.
The team operates effectively within ambiguity and impacts the development of foundational Hivemind products while delivering low-TRL solutions.
The role involves integrating Hivemind Edge, Design, and Commander into a cohesive product.
Responsibilities include creating technology strategies, iterating with customer feedback, developing reference implementations, exploring future technologies, and identifying technical debt across the stack.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 15+ years of related experience in developing large, production-quality software systems.
Expertise in modern C++ (C++17 and beyond) is required.
Candidates should have deep experience in architectural design and implementation of large and complex distributed systems.
Experience with Git and code management tools is necessary.
A passion for developing high-quality and optimized software solutions is essential.
Excellent software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, and bug tracking is required.
Strong technical collaboration skills and a desire to develop new skills are important.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $168,871 - $253,306 per year.
